FaithPilgrimage.com is a Viator affiliate partner. When you click a link on our site and book a tour through Viator, we earn a small commission on that booking. This is how we sustain the site, pay for hosting, and keep the lights on.
What this means for you
It means you pay exactly the same price booking through our links as you would booking directly through Viator. We do not add any markup. We do not charge a service fee. The price shown on Viator is the price you pay — Viator handles all payments, all cancellations, all support. We are not in that chain.
The commission we earn varies slightly depending on the tour and the operator, but it never increases what you pay. Viator sets the prices. We have no ability to change them, mark them up, or offer discounts. The affiliate relationship is between us and Viator, not between you and us.
Why we chose this model
We could have built a site with display advertising, or a marketplace with booking fees, or a premium subscription model. We chose the affiliate model because it aligns our incentives with yours: we only earn money when you successfully book a tour, which means we have a strong incentive to recommend tours we believe in and to be honest about which tours are worth your time.
If a tour on our site is not good, we will tell you. We do not earn more commission from bad tours, in fact, a bad tour means a cancelled booking, which means no commission and a pilgrim who had a poor experience. That helps no one.
How we choose which tours to recommend
We recommend tours based on our own assessment of quality, value, and relevance to pilgrims. We consider: whether the guide is licensed and experienced, whether the itinerary makes sense for someone who is traveling with genuine spiritual intent, whether the physical demands are accurately described, and whether the operator has a track record of treating pilgrims, not tourists, with appropriate respect.
We do not recommend tours because they offer the highest commission. We recommend tours we would take ourselves.
